Acknowledgement of Country

Nimbin Fringe is held on the lands of the Widjabul Wia-bal people of the Bundjalung Nation.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this Country and pay our deep respect to Elders past and present. We recognise their continuing connection to land, water, culture and community — a connection that has existed here for tens of thousands of years.

As a festival grounded in creativity, community and cultural expression, we honour the stories, knowledge and resilience of the Widjabul Wia-bal people, and we are grateful to gather, create and celebrate on this Country.

Sovereignty was never ceded.
Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
